A.S.D. FIUME CAVATA
The visitor, be it social, tourist or simple fan, being conducted by canoe single or multiple canoes along the river through a wild landscape, untouched and full of testimonies of the medieval past of the place, known for being used as a landing and riverwaterway for the ancient village of Sermoneta. The route runs from the source of that '"blue water" in the locality Monticchio in the direction of the confluence with the channel line Cavata Pius VI, through a unique landscape for integrity, water quality, presence oftraces of the past .
Along the first stretch of the river can lead to make a brief visit to the surviving structures of the ancient river port, where stand the remains of course 'old mill, called Mola di S. Mary, probably dating from the twelfth century and used until the early twentiethcentury as a hydraulic machine for lifting and pumping water to the upper town of Sermoneta. The visit continues inside the woodMonticchio, until you get near the source of '"Water Queen", a particularly attractive, surrounded by lush vegetation, dominated by the roar of gushing water made little leap, and by the chirping of many species of birds that nest there and parked.
